Twenty five more years, a depression but also some incredible inventions which made such a difference to the lives of ordinary people. There was another world war but this was so different from the First. Soldiers fought again but not in trenches this time and aeroplanes allowed the enemy to bomb towns and cities in Britain. Food was scarce so large convoys of ships would bring supplies across the Atlantic Ocean and risk being sunk by German submarines.
