In every county of England and in each of our metropolitan boroughs you can always find, if you look hard enough, something weird. Every other Monday we will be
finding that weird something in every area we travel to and uploading a video about it. However we want you to go out in your area and uncover something
that we might miss and then write and tell us about it.
Rules:
•Open to anyone in the world.
•If you are under 18 years of age, you must have permission from your parent or guardian to enter.
*If you live in England, go out and find something you think is weird in one of the counties or metropolitan boroughs shown on the
map on the front page of our English Counties page.
*Then write a piece explaining why you think it is weird. Do not use more than 500 words. Either take a picture or draw
us a picture of the place, object, whatever it is.
*Next, send the picture and text to us at the address below. We will upload the very best we receive on to
the appropriate page on our website. However check out the section below to see what extra prize you might be able to win.
*The second option is for those of you who live outside of England. We would like you to find something in your
country, your area, your town or your village and do exactly the same. Send us text and a picture.
*In this instance we will set up a totally separate page on our site and upload your contributions, country by country.
Prize:
Having your work on our award-winning website, seen by people all over the world, should be a big enough prize. However, if you have
written in with your suggestions at least 6 weeks before we upload about an area, then we will try to meet you and let you, on video,
tells about your suggestion. Could this be the first step to being a journalist or reporter?
How to enter:
Send both your test and picture/drawing to weird@owlbut.co.uk and don’t
forget to include your name and your grown up’s contact details. This applies to those of you living in, and writing about, somewhere in England.
If you are taking part from somewhere else then send both your test and picture/drawing to
weirdoutside@owlbut.co.uk and again remember to include your name and your grown up’s contact details.
Let's all get weird together
