Guess what. Robert got back from his crusade and almost immediately invaded England. Once again he argued that he was the
rightful King of England and now he was fighting his youngest brother.
At first the two brothers came to an agreement where Robert would agree that Henry was King Of England and Henry would give up any claim England
had to land in Normandy. The agreement was called the Treaty of Alton but it looks as though when he signed it, Henry had his fingers crossed behind his back
because in 1105 he invaded Normandy.
At the Battle of Tinchebray, in Normandy, Henry defeated Robert once and for all, captured him and kept him in prison until 1134 when Robert died
and it seemed pointless and a bit smelly to keep him in prison any longer. Now, in 1106, the King of England, Henry I, was also ruler of Normandy which hadn’t
happened since the death of William the Conqueror in 1087, 19 years before.
