While all this was going on Henry and the French King Louis, signed a treaty in Paris, called the treaty of Paris, rather unimaginatively. In this Henry agreed to give up all his claims to the land his father had lost in France. He was allowed to keep the Channel Islands and Gascony, which is right down in south west France. This later led to loads of disputes which went on for years, 100 or so to be precise. Louis then agreed not to support the English barons against Henry.
