The Tudors
Timeline

A year of weddings, one royal, one not although the couple had royal sounding names. The first wedding took place at a registry office in London on September 20. The couple were called William Edward and Edyth Mary, very royal names. They had a registry office wedding because the man had been married before and the church, in those days, did not allow a divorcee to remarry in church. There was one bridesmaid, the bride's sister but I don't think there was a best man. You can see from the photo the fashion in those days. Men carried gloves, the elderly man on the right seems to have a cigarette in his hand (naughty), the women carry fur stoles which may be real animal fur (naughty) and everyone seems quite happy. Two years later I was able to call the bride and groom, mummy and daddy. As well as me, the couple had another child, a girl, Elizabeth, who caused some confusion to me when she was born and that is, strangely, connected to the other wedding this year.

That other wedding between Elizabeth and Philip (not very royal was it) happened on 20 November and took place at Westminster Abbey (show offs). They seemed to have dressed up a bit more and I think there were a few more people listening, like about 200 million on the BBC radio broadcast worldwide. Elizabeth had 8 bridesmaids and 2 page boys. The couple received over 2,500 wedding presents and 10,000 telegrams. Just over 4 years later I was able to call Elizabeth Her Majesty the Queen and Philip, Prince Philip. I never actually did that to their faces but I could have if I wanted. I did pop into their little home, Buckingham Palace, a few years later but you will have to wait to find out why. This couple had 4 children.
