The Tudors
Timeline

On 9 September of this year, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II became the longest reigning monarch in the history of England. She overtook the length of reign of her great, great grandmother, Queen Victoria. With people living longer, royalty included, it seems pretty unlikely that anyone will beat this record, especially as it is still continuing, which means, that when history is talked about in two or three hundred years, it will be during your life that people speak of the longest reigning king or queen. No, you're not famous.

Thought we'd be a bit different and celebrate with a picture of Her Majesty during WWII when she joined the Women's Auxiliary Territorial Service, was known as Second Subaltern Elizabeth Windsor, and trained in London as a mechanic and military truck driver.

Election time again. Have 5 years really gone by? Yes. This time, despite all the austerity of those 5 years, the Conservatives won enough seats (330) to govern on their own, which was just as well as the Lib Dems now only had 8 MPs. Labour also lost some seats from last time (26) and so David Cameroon was now free to introduce any measures he liked. During the election he had promised that if he won he would allow a referendum on whether we wanted to stay in the EU.
