We know that there was a lot of bronze and gold jewellery items made during the Bronze Age but now, in the Iron Age
the work of the craftsmen who made these became even more intricate, more beautiful. Bronze can look almost the same colour as gold when new but the difference
is that over a period of time bronze can turn to a green-like colour as the metal is exposed to the air.
Take a look at the pictures of some Celtic jewellery.
All of these were made without any help from a machine. The individual craftsman or woman created this with their
own hands. I just think that these people had some amazing skills and we are so lucky to still be able to look at their work.
Lots of these old pieces of jewellery can now be found in museums all around the country. See if there are any near you and go and have a look. They look
even better in real life.
