This was quite a fashion conscious era and wealthy men would have a coat with curving tails. They still wore breeches though a bit longer now stopping just below the knee often with some sort of fastener. They were less flashy with only a small amount of embroidery on the edges and the pockets and this would disappear later in the period. Shirts would be frilled at the cuff. Men would wear a knotted silk or lace cravat around their necks. Men had their own hair although they could still wear a powdered wig for special occasions. Wealthy women still had padded long dresses with a wooden frame underneath. Their hair was often a mass of loose curls. They would also wear a short jacket over the top of the dress. Linen, cotton and wool were the favourite materials with silk dresses for evening wear. In the early part of the period, women might wear small, round muslin caps but later on larger, more fancy hats came into fashion. For the ordinary peasant, little changed. However it is from this time that styles changed really rapidly. You can try to look this up and see for yourself.
