I think I may have said that history has a habit of going round in circles. This would seem to imply that those in charge are either incapable of learning any lessons or, more likely, think it can't happen again. Starting in 2007 and at its worst in 2008 there was a global financial crisis. Some of it was caused by greedy bankers, some because people had borrowed too much money and some of it because..........these things happen. The end result in the UK was that the government had to take over some banks, confidence was lost and money was tight. As usual, the ordinary people, who hadn't really done anything wrong, suffered the most.
