The Cabo Verde Islands form a country in the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of western Africa. Nine of the islands are inhabited.

The Cabo Verdean flag is five unequal horizontal stripes. The top on of blue is equal to one half the height of the flag. Below this are three stripes
of of white, red, and white, each equal to 1/12 of the width, and a bottom stripe of blue equal to one quarter of the flag height. (Sorry about the Maths).
A circle of 10 yellow, five-pointed stars is centred on the red stripe and positioned 3/8 of the width of the flag from the flag pole side. Blue represents
the sea and the sky, the circle of stars represents the 10 major islands united into a nation and the stripes show the road to the formation of the country
through peace (white) and effort (red)
