equatorialguinea The Equatorial Guinean flag is three equal horizontal stripes of green, at the top, white and red with a blue isosceles triangle based on the flag pole side. The coat of arms is in the centre of the white band. The coat of arms has six yellow six-pointed stars which represent the mainland and the five offshore islands above a grey shield bearing a silk-cotton tree and below which is a scroll with the motto UNIDAD, PAZ, JUSTICIA (Unity, Peace, Justice). Green represents the jungle and natural resources, blue represents the sea that connects the mainland to the islands, white stands for peace, and red recalls the fight for independence.

The capital of Equatorial Guinea is Malabo.

Equatorial Guinea is a presidential republic with a president as head of state and a prime minister as head of the government.

In elections everyone over the age of 18 can vote.

The currency in Equatorial Guinea is the Central African franc.

Spanish, Portuguese and French are the official languages.
