The Togolese flag is five equal horizontal stripes of green, at the top, then yellow, green, yellow and green at the bottom. A white five-pointed star on a red square
is in the upper flag pole side corner. The five horizontal stripes represent the five different regions of the country. The red square is to express the loyalty
and patriotism of the people, green is for hope, fertility, and agriculture while yellow represents mineral wealth and faith that hard work and strength
will bring prosperity. The star is a symbol for life, purity, peace, dignity and Togo's independence
