That last story about the Channel Tunnel said how long it takes but, if you want to travel completely around the English coastline it can take you up to 10 months. That's how long it took me, starting in September 1994, when I made my second such journey. You can read about that here.
Sadly, on 24 February 1995, while I was in the middle of that trip, my mother died. She had a major operation at the end of November and I managed to get back to be with her for that and I didn't travel during December but returned to my travelling in early January. I also managed to get back a couple of weeks before she died. She had been following my adventures just like she did the previous time,
