Life was very much the same day-by-day. Much time would be spent hunting or fishing for food, usually done by the men and boys, or gathering berries and nuts, usually done by the women. The number of people living in one group would be quite small, maybe just a couple of families. Every so often they would pack up the animal skin walls, possibly take the twigs and branches with them, and set off to make a new home where they could find a new food supply. Other time was spent sewing clothes, hoping you didn't poison yourself or trying not to be the food of the food you were tracking. Everyone may have spent time carving bones into spears or arrows, using flint axes and tools. Flint was easy to find in the ground. The knives they made were as sharp as the knives you have. Children would learn from their parents and there were no schools, at all, ever, in any way, anywhere. People would run their lives by the seasons as, having no artificial light, they could only work during daylight, having long summer working hours and short winter ones. It must have been very strange too as they had no real calendars so it was probably a bit of a surprise when winter or summer came round again although they knew it would be on the way.
