People used to dress in the skins of animals they had killed for food. In really hot weather they probably didn’t wear any clothes at all. For this time in history nearly everything is guess work, nothing was written down, no-one could write, and the materials they used would rot away so modern archaeologists seldom find any remains. The animal skins would have been wrapped around the body and tied with flax from plants growing nearby. They could also have sewn the skins together using needles made from the bones of dead animals and the stringy inside bits from these same animals. Maybe they would use the flax and make grass skirts for in the hotter weather. They only had outer garments, no underwear and no shoes. The soles of their feet must have been very tough, Sometimes, it seems, they wore antlers for head-dresses but nobody really knows why. Had they been able to write, “101 things to do with a deer,” probably by Mary Berry, would have been a very popular book. They also used feathers from birds so their clothes were either deer or cheep (cheep, cheep) hahaha. Clothes were washed, occasionally, in the river or sea as were humans. In fact they would often go into the water wearing their clothes thereby achieving two tasks in one go.
