Fashion is changing all the time and it is the young people leading the changes. Young men will wear jeans or trousers which sit well below their waists, often showing off the top of their underpants. Young women wear jeans with deliberate holes in the legs. Many people have tattoos. Jewellery seems less important than in previous times. There doesn't seem to be any defined rule for formal clothing. You just wear what you want and what you like. Older people either wear the same clothes they wore when they are young or try to buy more modern stuff. Older men can often be seen wearing jeans which they must have done when they were young. Clothing is now very informal. Many men working in offices no longer wear a suit and tie. Hardly anyone wears a hat, even older people. Hoodies are popular with young men and some young girls. Clothing is very unisexual meaning it can be worn by men or women. Trainers are the most popular footwear among the young. Very few people wear a watch as they all have the time on their mobile phones. So far no-one has designed clothing with special pockets to hold these phones and/or ipods.
